2011 Halloween Events Destin, Seaside, Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach
The weather may still be warm but autumn is upon us. October is a great month along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico to enjoy many planned activities to celebrate the cooler temperatures and season of colors and family having fun together.
I searched around the web to see what was “cookin’” in the area for both family and adult fun this month and here are some of the great 2011 Halloween events planned for you to relish.
2011 Halloween Events in Destin
The 3rd Annual Bayshore Manor Haunted House will take place October 29th -31st. Where? 195 N. Holiday Road, Miramar Beach. Hours: Friday -7-11:00pm, Saturday 4:00- 11:00 pm and Sunday 7-11:00 pm. Should be frightfully fun!
On October 28th The Destin Library is hosting a Story time Halloween Costume Parade for children 4 yrs and younger beginning 9:30am. In the Miss Willie Mae Taylor Room. Please call 837-8572 to sign up by October 25th.
October 29th: Pumpkinpalooza at Harborwalk Village, Destin. Costume contests for both little ones and grown-ups. Register to be in the contest early as children’s contest begins 2pm and adults -9:00pm Children can trick or treat the merchants of the Village.
October 31st: Trick or Treat Street at Baytowne on October 31st from 6-8:00pm. DJ and Fireworks.
October 31st: Trick or Treat at Silver Sands Outlet form 4-6 pm.
2011 Halloween Events in Seaside, Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach
Van Ness Butler Elementary School in Santa Rosa Beach has a pumpkin patch from October 14 -30th. Weekdays – 2:45-6:00 pm , Saturdays 10:00am-4:00 pm and Sunday noon through 4:00 pm. The pumpkins start at $5.00 and what a great place to take a family photo!
October 29th: Seaside – The 2nd Annual Halloweener Derby & Fundraiser. From 9am-12pm you can check out these hilarious races with our furry friends dressed up in their adorable costumes. The fundraiser helps to raise money for the Alaqua Animal Refuge.
October 29th is Noche de los Muertos Costume Party at Caliza Pool at Alys Beach. DJ Stevo will help to make it a fright night. Costumes are required and all participants must be OVER 21 years old. There is a cash bar. $500 For best costume and tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. You may purchase the tickets on line by simply going to Noche de los Muertos. (A portion of the proceeds will benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network).
Also for adults on Saturday, October 29th from 9pm-Midnight is the Costumes and Cocktails party at Restaurant Paradis in Rosemary Beach. Enjoy spooktacular drink specials and a costume contest with great prizes!
October 30th and 31st have a plethora of 2011 Halloween events so I will simply list them and you can figure out just what is up your scary ally!
October 30th: Seaside Halloween Derby and a Trick N Treat Pet Parade 10:00am – 12:30pm
October 30th: Harvest Market and Monstrous Halloween Celebration at Rosemary Beach from 10:00 am- 5:30 pm – Harvest Market in Town Center
3:30 – 5:30 pm, Trick or Treating & Kids’ Halloween Bash

Cowgirl Kitchen, 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Mosey on down to the Cowgirl Kitchen for a frighteningly good time at the 3rd annual Halloween Party! $20 all-you-can-eat-&-drink pizza & beer. Enter to win costume contest!
Tour the haunted cemetery….if you dare! Plus see the OH Institute’s 1st Annual Scare-crOH Lane while gobbling up goodies from their bake sale!
On Monday, October 31st from 4-6 pm don’t miss out on Seaside Halloween! Collect candy from all of your favorite merchants, hop on the haunted hayride, hear ghost stories from the Seaside Repertory Theatre and do the monster mash along with 30-A radio. Don’t forget to stop by Fired Up! as well to pick up your free pottery pumpkins!
Of course, walking along the shores of our beautiful beaches, picking shells in the sunshine and breathing in the cooler salt air is always a favorite of those appreciating the less crowded beaches during the month of October.
Whatever you choose to do this autumn, do it with a joy in your heart and a smile on your face because you are doing whatever you want in one of the prettiest places in this nation.
